About me
Lina Hansson.
When I was born, my parents wanted to name me Lina. I was a dead-on Lina, they knew it. And so, they named me something else... though have never called me anything but Lina. Gotta love their sense of humor.
I became an artist, however you choose to 'define' that. For me it is much more than making beautiful things, or ugly things, or objects and images of aesthetic financial market value. It's something I am sure I would do even if nobody ever saw them but myself.
Sight has always been the most developed of my senses. At the age of three I drew as though I were ten, and there are days when I still do. My fascination for creatures with stubbly buttocks is a force-of-nature. Only these days we professionals are allowed to call it "character design".
Awesome.
Weapons Of Choice: digital camera, Wacom board and Photoshop. That's where I do most damage. Having been a computer nerd since childhood - rocking it on the Amiga and Commodore 64/128 and later the PC when it was introduced, it was a natural process for me to move from traditional to digital media in the mid-90's. Nowadays I rock the Mac too.
Experimenting with small projects in the shape of fan-sites led me to doing the official website for the wonderful artist; Björk. Ten years later alongside photography and image manipulation that is still one of my dearest spare time projects.
Work experience
I was mainly a freelance illustrator and photographer post studies until bjork.com took over. This stepped down from full-time to a spare-time hobby project when I was offered a position as a Graphic Designer at hip web-bureau Catwalk Interactive, where I stayed from 1999 to 2001.
Then, the famous 'IT bubble' burst, and I was freelancing and curating until I was employed by Ongame in 2005, which was bought up by BetAndWin and later became known as bwin.
I left bwin in august 2008 after a good 3½ years, for the position of Visual Designer / Art Director at computergame company Jadestone. This is my current employment.
